PML-N Japan President Condemns Attempts to Link Ishaq Dar with Relative’s Actions

Tokyo: Malik Noor Awan, President of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Japan, has strongly condemned what he described as attempts to associate Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar with the alleged actions of one of his relatives, calling such comparisons “unfair, unethical, and politically motivated.”

In a statement issued on Thursday, Malik Noor Awan said every individual should be judged on the basis of his or her own character, integrity, and professional performance rather than being held responsible for the conduct of relatives.

“Ishaq Dar has served Pakistan with dedication in several key positions, including as Finance Minister, Foreign Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister,” Awan said. “His public service, economic expertise, and diplomatic experience should be evaluated independently. Linking him to the actions of another individual simply because of a family relationship is unjust.”

According to Malik Noor Awan, political discourse should remain focused on facts and accountability rather than personal associations. He said that fairness demands that responsibility be attributed only to those directly involved in any matter.

Awan described Ishaq Dar as one of the country’s most experienced economic policymakers, saying that he has played an important role in Pakistan’s financial management during challenging periods. He also praised Dar’s contribution to Pakistan’s foreign policy, stating that his diplomatic engagement has helped strengthen the country’s relations with friendly nations and international partners.

The PML-N Japan president emphasized that public figures should be criticized or appreciated on the basis of their own decisions and official performance. “No democratic society can uphold justice if people are judged by the actions of their relatives instead of their own conduct,” he said.

Malik Noor Awan further urged political parties, media organizations, and social media users to avoid spreading narratives that unfairly target individuals through family connections. He said responsible political debate should encourage evidence-based discussion and respect the principles of justice and due process.

He added that Pakistan’s democratic system would be strengthened when political disagreements remain within the boundaries of ethics, law, and constitutional values. According to Awan, public confidence in institutions depends on fairness and equal treatment for all citizens, regardless of their political affiliation.

Concluding his statement, Malik Noor Awan reiterated his support for Ishaq Dar and expressed confidence in his continued role in serving Pakistan. He said that differences in politics should never become a reason to abandon the principles of fairness, adding that every individual deserves to be judged on his own merit rather than on the actions of family members.
