ISLAMABAD, October 31, 2026: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar has described overseas Pakistanis as a valuable national asset, saying their remittances, professional expertise and commitment to their homeland play a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy and supporting its development.

He was speaking during a meeting with delegations of overseas Pakistanis from the United States and Japan, alongside tribal elders, lawyers, intellectuals, representatives of social organizations and people from various walks of life.

The discussions covered the challenges facing Pakistanis living abroad, their welfare and protection, investment opportunities, economic and political stability, national security and the evolving regional and international situation.

Nasar said overseas Pakistanis remained an important pillar of the national economy. Through years of hard work and professional achievement, they had contributed significantly to Pakistan’s economic resilience while supporting families and communities across the country.

He emphasized that their contribution extended beyond financial remittances. Their experience, skills and resources, he said, could help advance national development and create stronger opportunities for investment and economic cooperation.

The deputy chairman said the government recognized the difficulties faced by Pakistani communities abroad and was pursuing initiatives to address their concerns, protect their rights and improve access to facilities. Encouraging their participation in national development remained an important priority, he added.

He stressed that overseas Pakistanis should be supported in maintaining a productive relationship with their homeland, allowing their knowledge and resources to contribute more effectively to Pakistan’s long term progress.

Turning to domestic challenges, Nasar said sustainable development depended on economic stability, political harmony and a secure environment. He called on political parties and national institutions to work together in the broader national interest and adopt a collective approach to resolving the country’s problems.

Pakistan’s progress, he said, required cooperation, continuity and a shared commitment to public welfare. National priorities must guide collective efforts to strengthen confidence and create conditions conducive to development.

Nasar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan was moving towards greater economic stability, stronger national security and an improved international standing. He attributed this direction to their coordinated efforts and commitment to the country’s progress.

He further said the government was pursuing measures to promote regional and international peace while safeguarding Pakistan’s security interests.

Referring to Marka-e-Haq, the deputy chairman described it as a significant milestone reflecting national unity, resilience and professional strength. He said it carried lasting implications for Pakistan’s security and its position internationally.

Concluding his remarks, Nasar emphasized that national unity, political consensus and collective responsibility were essential to building a stable and prosperous Pakistan.

He said overseas Pakistanis had an important place in that shared undertaking and that their experience, resources and dedication should be fully utilized for national advancement.

The meeting brought together representatives from diverse backgrounds to discuss overseas welfare alongside wider national concerns, with Nasar reiterating that the contributions of Pakistani communities abroad remained central to the country’s economic strength, development prospects and pursuit of lasting prosperity.
