The global exhibition Expo Japan 2025, currently underway in the historic and cultural city of Osaka, is witnessing overwhelming success. Over 100 countries from around the world have set up their pavilions, showcasing their culture, economic vision, and innovations to an international audience. Among them, Pakistan has presented a small but well-curated and eye-catching pavilion that has quickly become a major attraction for thousands of visitors each day.

The highlight of Pakistan’s pavilion is its display of a natural treasure — Himalayan Pink Salt — which is globally renowned for its purity, aesthetic appeal, and health benefits. Visitors, including Japanese citizens and international tourists, are showing great interest in learning about this unique product and are also engaging with the broader cultural and culinary aspects of Pakistan.

An estimated 8,000 to 10,000 people visit the Pakistan pavilion daily, ranging from children and elderly to traders, journalists, and diplomats. Long queues of Japanese visitors can be seen, admiring and appreciating the Pakistani products. The pavilion also features traditional handicrafts, cultural artwork, a photo gallery, and informative material that beautifully represent Pakistan’s heritage.
Pakistan is being represented at the Expo by Nasir Ahmed, Director of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). Speaking to media representatives, he stated, “This Expo is a golden opportunity to introduce Pakistani pink salt to the Japanese market. It’s not just a platform for trade, but also a chance to promote Pakistan’s peaceful image, cultural richness, and natural wonders on the world stage.”
Prominent Pakistani businessman Ramzan Siddique also visited the pavilion and praised the efforts made to highlight Pakistan’s unique resources. “This kind of representation is vital,” he said, “not only to boost exports but to help the world rediscover the true potential of Pakistani products. Pink salt is just one example of what we can offer globally.”

The event has been successfully managed by a dedicated team of organizers. Mr. Sajjad Shah, one of the lead coordinators of the Pakistan Pavilion’s event management, said, “We wanted to make sure the pavilion reflects Pakistan’s diversity and richness in a dignified and welcoming way. The response has exceeded our expectations.”

Local Japanese-Pakistani businessman Syed Ali Johar Zaidi, who has been involved in supporting the pavilion, shared his perspective: “This is not just about promoting products — it’s about promoting relationships. As someone living and doing business in Japan, I see this Expo as a bridge between the two countries, and I’m proud to be a part of that effort.”

The Pakistani delegation also includes officials from various government institutions, business representatives, and trade experts who are holding meetings with investors and officials from other countries to explore avenues for trade and investment in Pakistan.

Expo Japan 2025 is expected to continue for several more months, drawing millions of visitors from across the globe. Judging by the current popularity of the Pakistan pavilion, it is clear that despite limited resources, Pakistan has managed to present a powerful and positive image on an international platform.
