Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan held a meeting at the President House on Wednesday to discuss key national and political matters.
During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on parliamentary affairs, economic policies, and ongoing legislative developments. They emphasized the importance of strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Senate and National Assembly.
The discussion also touched upon Pakistan’s economic trajectory, trade opportunities, and foreign relations, with a special focus on Pakistan-UK ties and international cooperation. Syedaal Khan briefed the Acting President on his recent engagements, including his meeting with UK Deputy Speaker Nusrat Ghani and the discussions on investment and diplomatic collaboration.
The Kashmir issue and Pakistan’s stance on Palestine were also discussed, with both leaders reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for the rights of oppressed communities in line with international law and human rights principles.
Both leaders stressed the need for political unity and economic stability to ensure Pakistan’s progress. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening democracy, enhancing governance, and working towards national development.
