Advisor to the Board of Investment, Syed Feroz Alam Shah, has said that the recent visit of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to Japan has opened a new chapter in Pakistan–Japan relations. He noted that the respect and recognition shown by the Japanese government and investors towards Maryam Nawaz’s leadership and vision is clear evidence that both countries are set to move closer in the coming years.

Syed Feroz Alam Shah stated that the pace of development projects currently underway in Punjab is remarkable, and benefiting from Japanese expertise and technology in these projects is a wise and forward-looking decision by Maryam Nawaz. He highlighted that Japan’s cooperation in industrial development, particularly in technology transfer and high-tech industries, will directly benefit the people of Punjab.

He further said that Japan’s interest in key sectors such as environment, railways, highways, and the automobile industry is a reflection of the Chief Minister’s farsightedness. Investment in these areas will not only strengthen Pakistan’s economy but will also generate new employment opportunities. According to him, Maryam Nawaz’s vision is helping project a positive and modern image of Pakistan globally, while overseas Pakistanis have also hailed the visit as highly successful.

Expressing optimism, Syed Feroz Alam Shah said that following this visit, Japanese investors are expected to invest on a larger scale in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab. Such cooperation, he added, will inject new strength into the provincial as well as national economy.
