Tokyo, Japan – July 2025:
A senior delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Japan, led by its Chairman, called on Pakistan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Abdul Hameed, in Tokyo. The purpose of the meeting was to welcome the ambassador and to discuss key issues faced by the Pakistani community residing in Japan.
The PML-N Japan delegation included several prominent members: Senior Vice President Ch. Ansar Gujar, Tokyo President Sheikh Arif, Information Secretary Qamar Suzuki, Vice President Mian Amjad Tabassum, as well as respected community leaders Qaiser Baig, Dr. Ahmad Baig, Saleem Baig, Muhammad Ibrahim, Shaheen Khan, Waseem Kamboh, and senior community member Muhammad Inam.



During the nearly two-hour meeting, the delegation extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Abdul Hameed and congratulated him on his new diplomatic assignment in Japan. They expressed confidence in his leadership and hoped for a more dynamic and responsive embassy that would serve as a vital bridge between the government and the expatriate community.
The delegation raised a range of issues, including consular service delays, visa processing, the need for more community engagement initiatives, and support for overseas Pakistanis, particularly laborers and students. The participants emphasized the need for effective communication and transparency between the embassy and the Pakistani diaspora.



Ambassador Abdul Hameed listened attentively and assured the delegation of his commitment to improving embassy operations and addressing community concerns with sincerity and urgency. He stressed the importance of unity, cooperation, and constructive dialogue, and said the embassy doors would remain open to all community members, regardless of political or social affiliation.
He also appreciated the positive and proactive role played by organizations like PML-N Japan in supporting national interests abroad and promoting a cohesive image of Pakistan in Japanese society.
Speaking on the occasion, senior party leader Malik Younas expressed optimism about the ambassador’s arrival, noting,


“We believe that Ambassador Abdul Hameed’s appointment marks a new beginning. We look forward to building a stronger bridge between the community and the embassy, one based on mutual respect, communication, and shared goals.”
Chairman of PML-N Japan echoed these sentiments, reaffirming the party’s dedication to community welfare and constructive engagement.
“PML-N Japan has always worked to promote the well-being of overseas Pakistanis and to nurture healthy ties between Pakistan and Japan. We will continue to play our part, politically, socially, and culturally.”
Information Secretary Qamar Suzuki emphasized the need for streamlined access to embassy services and better outreach to address everyday challenges faced by the Pakistani community.

Vice President Mian Amjad Tabassum proposed the establishment of a community liaison desk at the embassy to facilitate faster resolution of individual and collective issues.
Ambassador Abdul Hameed welcomed the suggestions and assured that community interests would remain a top priority during his tenure. He encouraged the delegation to maintain a constructive channel of dialogue and work collectively for the image and progress of Pakistan.







The meeting concluded on a note of mutual goodwill and commitment to continued cooperation. As the delegation departed, there was a shared sense of hope that this renewed engagement between the embassy and the community would lead to long-term improvements in services, representation, and trust.
With over 35,000 Pakistanis living in Japan, the role of the embassy remains critical in addressing their evolving needs. The PML-N Japan delegation’s visit highlights a growing demand for stronger community-diplomatic relations rooted in respect, accessibility, and shared purpose.
