Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syedal Khan, emphasized the critical role of the business community in national development during his address at a key meeting of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) held in Islamabad today.

Calling it a “great honour” to speak before the country’s leading economic minds, Syedal Khan lauded the business community for its unwavering commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s economy through investment, innovation, and job creation.
“The FPCCI has consistently acted as a bridge between policy and potential,” he stated, underlining the organization’s central role in shaping Pakistan’s economic future.
He highlighted the Senate’s dedication to driving economic reform and legislative stability, stating that Senate committees—especially those focused on Commerce, Finance, Industry, and Planning—are working in close consultation with stakeholders to eliminate regulatory hurdles, ensure policy continuity, and boost Pakistan’s global competitiveness.
“The voice of the private sector must be central in policymaking,” he noted, urging for a predictable and business-friendly environment.

Syedal Khan also encouraged the FPCCI to deepen its outreach at the grassroots level, adding, “Empowering the provinces is key to empowering business.” He stressed the need for a new social contract between the public and private sectors—one rooted in transparency, security, and mutual responsibility.
“This partnership must not be driven by short-term interests but by a long-term vision for inclusive national growth,” he said, urging businesses to uphold fair taxation, regulatory compliance, and job creation as part of their commitment to the country.
In his concluding remarks, Syedal Khan reaffirmed the Senate’s commitment to working alongside the business community: “We are ready to listen, legislate, and lead. But true change requires us all—public and private sectors—to move forward together.”
He ended with a heartfelt prayer for Pakistan’s continued peace, prosperity, and progress.
