1.6 Million Visitors in Five Months – Pink Salt Wins Global Acclaim

At the ongoing World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, Pakistan has achieved a remarkable milestone. The Pakistan Pavilion has emerged as one of the most popular attractions, drawing over 1.6 million visitors in just five months. This record-breaking footfall has positioned Pakistan’s pavilion among the top-performing country exhibits at the event.

Pink Salt as the Main Attraction

The central theme of the Pakistan Pavilion is Himalayan Pink Salt, a natural treasure born in the mountains of Pakistan. Visitors from across the globe were fascinated by its quality, purity, and unique presentation. The product not only captured public interest but also attracted the attention of major importers and buyers. According to trade experts, substantial orders are expected from Japan and other international markets, which could transform Pakistan’s export landscape.

Pink Salt’s global recognition at the Expo has been hailed as a turning point. Analysts predict it could become Pakistan’s flagship export product, boosting foreign reserves and diversifying the country’s trade portfolio.

Challenging Indian and Israeli Branding

For years, Japanese markets were dominated by Indian and Israeli companies selling Pakistani Pink Salt under their own branding. This deprived Pakistan of rightful recognition and commercial value. However, through the Osaka Expo 2025, Pakistan officially presented Pink Salt as an authentic Pakistani product, reclaiming ownership and ensuring the world acknowledges its true origin. This step has been widely praised by both government officials and the business community as a historic correction of identity in the international trade arena.

Statement by Muhammad Naseer

Muhammad Naseer, Director General of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and head of the Pakistan Pavilion, shared his views in an exclusive interview with Daily Jang. He stated:

“This is truly a historic moment for Pakistan. Millions of people have visited our pavilion and shown admiration not only for Pink Salt but also for other Pakistani products. This recognition has opened doors for direct engagement with global buyers, and Pink Salt has received exceptional appreciation which will significantly strengthen our exports.”

He further emphasized that global expos provide a gateway for Pakistan’s economy, offering unparalleled opportunities to connect directly with investors, importers, and buyers from around the world.

Teamwork Behind the Success

The success of the pavilion has also been credited to the dedicated efforts of the TDAP team. In particular, Deputy Director TDAP Adil Mukhtar was praised for his crucial role in managing the operational and administrative aspects of the pavilion. His contributions ensured that the pavilion not only ran smoothly but also presented Pakistan’s image in the best possible light.

Looking Ahead

Experts believe that if Pakistan continues promoting its products with the same vision and consistency, the country could unlock new trade opportunities in Japan and other international markets. The overwhelming response at Osaka Expo 2025 has proven that Pakistan’s unique and high-quality products can shine on the global stage.

The resounding success of the Pakistan Pavilion stands as evidence that with the right strategy and presentation, Pakistan can carve a powerful place for itself in the international trade and export market. The Pink Salt story is just the beginning of what could be a new era of Pakistani exports.
