SEOUL – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator and Special Advisor to the Punjab Government Pervaiz Rasheed, who is currently on an official visit to South Korea to participate in legislative discussions on climate change, held an important meeting with the senior leadership of PML-N South Korea.

The delegation, led by President Raja Amir Iqbal, included Chairman Shafiq Khan, Senior Vice President Mubashir Hassan Abbasi, and General Secretary Dr. Mian Sabir Hussain.
Welcoming the senator, Raja Amir Iqbal noted that although the Pakistani community in South Korea is smaller compared to the UK, US, or Gulf countries, the PML-N South Korea chapter has established itself as a model chapter. Introducing Chairman Shafiq Khan, he praised him as a selfless worker and patriotic Pakistani who always warmly receives visiting party leaders.
The meeting, which lasted over three hours, covered both party affairs in South Korea and Pakistan’s current political situation. Senator Pervaiz Rasheed gave a detailed briefing on Punjab government initiatives, particularly praising Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision and tireless efforts. He highlighted her timely flood relief measures, stating that without her swift action, Punjab would have faced far greater losses during the recent calamity.
Dr. Mian Sabir Hussain briefed the senator on the organizational strength of PML-N in the region, explaining that under Barrister Amjad Malik’s leadership, more than 1,200 office-bearers have been mobilized across several countries to promote Pakistan’s soft image and the political vision of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

During the meeting, Senior Vice President Mubashir Hassan Abbasi raised concerns about a party worker undergoing treatment at a hospital in Islamabad. Senator Rasheed immediately directed the relevant authorities to resolve the matter.
Pervaiz Rasheed is among the few PML-N leaders who rose from a middle-class background purely through hard work. He was subjected to severe physical torture under General Musharraf’s martial law simply for refusing to abandon Nawaz Sharif.
Currently serving as a member of the Senate of Pakistan and Special Advisor to the Punjab Government, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed remains one of the closest confidants of Nawaz Sharif. In political circles, he is also regarded as a mentor to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
