Deputy Chairman Senate Leads Parliamentary Delegation to Meet Iranian Ambassador in Islamabad

Islamabad: A parliamentary delegation led by Deputy Chairman Senate, Sardar Syedaal Khan Nasir , met with the Iranian Ambassador, Dr. Reza Moghaddam, in Islamabad to discuss bilateral cooperation, regional peace, and security.

During the meeting, the delegation emphasized the need for appropriate measures to enhance trade activities along the Pakistan-Iran border. Deputy Chairman Senate called for consultations with traders and relevant authorities to gather recommendations for boosting bilateral trade.

He highlighted the importance of fostering connections between the chambers of commerce of both countries to strengthen economic ties. “Pakistan and Iran are deeply connected through shared cultural, religious, and linguistic similarities,” remarked Syedaal Khan. He further stated, “Iran is a brotherly Islamic country, and we take pride in our friendship with Iran.”

The Deputy Chairman also thanked the Iranian Ambassador for his support and reiterated the need to provide facilities for trade in the border areas.

Members of Parliament from Balochistan, present on the occasion, shared their suggestions and stressed the importance of devising an effective strategy to enhance trade and economic activities in the border regions.

The meeting underlined the significance of cooperation and dialogue to address mutual challenges and leverage opportunities for the benefit of both nations.
