The Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Japan, Mr. Abdul Hameed, hosted a dinner in Tokyo in honour of distinguished representatives from Japan’s leading business and government organizations, including the Japan–Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee (JPBCC), JETRO, JICA, METI, PJBF, and prominent members of the Japanese business community.
The gathering reaffirmed the shared commitment to deepen economic cooperation and explore new dimensions of partnership between Pakistan and Japan.
In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Abdul Hameed appreciated Japan’s long-standing collaboration with Pakistan in trade, infrastructure development, and human resource capacity building. He underscored Japan’s vital role as a trusted partner in Pakistan’s economic growth and highlighted the need to expand bilateral trade beyond traditional sectors into emerging areas such as renewable energy, information technology, and advanced manufacturing.

The event provided a valuable platform for open dialogue and networking between Japanese business leaders and the Embassy team, with discussions centering on Pakistan’s growing market potential. Participants explored opportunities in sectors such as automotive parts, textiles, agriculture technology, and digital innovation.
Members of the Japan–Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee (JPBCC) shared their commitment to promoting private sector linkages, trade facilitation, and knowledge exchange between the two countries. The Pakistan–Japan Business Forum (PJBF) was also recognized for its role in encouraging joint ventures and business missions aimed at further strengthening trade relations.
In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Abdul Hameed reaffirmed that Pakistan deeply values its friendship with Japan — a partnership built on mutual respect, trust, and shared development goals. He expressed optimism that through consistent engagement between governments, institutions, and the private sector, Pakistan and Japan will continue to strengthen a partnership based on innovation and mutual prosperity.
The evening concluded with a spirit of warmth and optimism, as participants expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations and upcoming business missions between Tokyo and Islamabad.
